Banks

All exhaust systems are not created equal. Banks 5-inch Monster-Exhaust systems for GM, RAM, and Ford liberate horsepower. By minimizing backpressure, the system reduces work required on the exhaust stroke. The less work on the exhaust stroke, the more power that gets to the crankshaft and ultimately the rear wheels. This is accomplished with more than just larger tubing. Using expansion nozzle technology, both the mandrel-bent tubing and ob-round SideKick tip decrease the air velocity and recover pressure, maximizing flow rate. A close inspection of the Banks pipe and tip reveals subtle but profound differences from any other system.

BD Diesel

The 2003-2004.5 Ford 6.0L Up-Pipe Kit is now available from BD Diesel and replaces the factory exhaust up-pipes (exhaust manifold to the turbo) which are prone to leakage due to deterioration. BD up-pipes are designed to minimize restriction to the turbo, utilizing internally shielded expansion bellows. The turbo Y-adapter is made from high-silicon ductile iron. The BD up-pipes are a durable, longer-life replacement for this common Power Stroke problem and are perfect as an upgrade while performing other engine or transmission repairs. Help prevent burns and block uncomfortable cabin heat from hot exhaust pipes with new Titanium Knitted Sleeves from Design Engineering, Inc.

Designed to fit 4-inch OD tube sizes, the sleeves have a max temperature rating of 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit and a continuous rating of 1,382 degrees. They are available in 12- and 24-inch lengths and can be cut to fit.

Featuring a thick basalt material, the lightweight sleeves can easily be trimmed to size and rolled at the ends. Kits include locking ties and tools to secure the sleeves to the pipes. (800-264-9472 // www.designengineering.com)

KBS Coatings

KBS Coatings offers XTC Silicone Zinc Primer and XTC Xtreme Temperature Coating to provide great-looking, durable and long-lasting finishes on exhaust manifolds, headers, and exhaust systems. Both are available in aerosol spray can form, and quart, gallon and five-gallon containers for brushing, rolling, or spray equipment. XTC Silicone Zinc Primer can withstand temperatures over 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and provides incredible rust protection even in high humidity, high condensation, and salt air conditions.

The primer functions much like galvanization and locks itself to bare metal surfaces, leaving a matte gray finish that can be used as the finish paint, or as a perfect primed surface for top coating. XTC is a high temperature and heat-resistant coating that protects metal surfaces operating at 500 degrees to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. With proper preparation, it provides outstanding adhesion, film integrity, weathering, thermal shock-resistance and is guaranteed not to burn off.

XTC will not peel, flake, or chalk and is resistant to scratching or marring and is available in 10 unique and great colors, plus XTC Clear is available as the final coating for any XTC matte color when a gloss finish is desired.
